We know that day is one of the most important days of your life, so we guarantee you our very best. There are a lot of so called "wedding photographers" out there, and just because someone has a digital camera and knows how to take a few snapshots doesn't make them a professional wedding photographer. It takes much more than that. Wedding photography takes dedication, knowledge, passion, motivation, experience, education, and the will to be the best at what you do, and all are qualities we exhibit at each and every wedding we shoot. We offer everything from the bridal and engagement sessions to the wedding and reception coverage. We have packages to fit every budget. We offer canvas prints that are ready to hang, beautiful coffee-table heirloom photo books, and CD's of each and every session so you can print as many photos as you would like. There is absolutely no limit to the number of photos we take, so believe me, you will have plenty to look through by the time everything's over! We normally use between 2 and 4 photographers, depending on your situation (every wedding is different) and there is no extra charge for using more photographers. We also travel anywhere in the state of Louisiana absolutely FREE! We only require a 25% retainer fee to book and hold your wedding date for you. The remainder is due by the day of the wedding. Please know that we reserve dates on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you do decide to hire us the earlier you book your wedding the better chance you have of getting the date of your choice. Cenla Photography travels throughout the state of Louisiana providing outstanding images to their clients. Although wedding photography is our main specialty, we also provide professional coverage for sporting events (including team and individual photos), family and children portraits, reunions, parties, commercial or corporate photos, and other "event" type photography.

Just a note - some of the galleries such as, "Aleesha and Gray - Wedding and Reception", had 3 photographers. When you click on their photo gallery, you will see camera #1, camera #2 and camera #3. The main photographer is always camera #1 and that is where the main photos, including the formal family photos will be.
One of Cenla Photography's main photographers, Steve Mathews, has been a practicing photographer for over 24 years. He has taken numerous courses in photography from Louisiana State University in Alexandria, Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and the Nikon School Of Photography in Houston, Texas. Steve is currently a member of the SPAA and the PPA.
Steve had his first photograph published in 1998, which was in an international magazine (that photo is still being published to this day). Since then he has won numerous awards for his excellence in photography and just last year he was nominated for the 2008 International Photographer of the Year Award! For this nomination he received a gorgeous crystal trophy and wood-grain plaque. He was also featured in the Alexandria Daily Town Talk Newspaper on May 25th, 2008 regarding this nomination. The Town Talk ran a 3/4 page full color article on his outstanding and rare achievement titled "A One In A Million Shot". He has also recently had photos published in a newspaper in Florida. Steve has had several of his photos on display at the Alexandria Museum of Art (one still remains today) and numerous photos published in various national and international magazines, hard-bound books, and coffee-table anthologies. He has received several "Editor's Choice" Awards and two "Hall of Fame" Awards for his photos and is currently in talks with a national producer of post cards and related items regarding having several of his amazing images put on post cards for distribution throughout the United States.

Please note that Cenla Photography does NOT use an indoor studio. It seems that many people are getting away from the indoor "portrait" scene with "not so real" backgrounds. Steve and Kathy believe in using the beautiful outdoors with the God given sunshine and real authentic backgrounds. They feel that photos such as these tend to look more "realistic" because well, they are! "The pictures just have that special feel to them", says one client. So far all of their clients agree and have loved the idea and their photos. (In the cases where they must take photos indoors they use backdrops and professional lighting as needed).
Regarding the photo site, they let YOU choose. It could be your own back yard, a playground, the zoo, a lake, just about anywhere you can think of. If you don't have a place in mind, they have several beautiful spots that they use on a regular basis that they would be happy to suggest.
